My kid is too cute!!

My son is adorable, I just want to eat him up!

I was giving him a bath a few nights ago, and I started singing the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" song. He immediately started to do the hand gestures along with me. It was great! He taps his fingers together to make the spider, and when we got to the rain coming down part, he dropped his hands in front of him, palms towards his face. It was all very dramatic. He must have picked that up at daycare, but we do sing that song at home, so he learned it very fast! I am just tickled with how quickly he is picking things up. He is a total copycat now too. We make faces at each other all throughout dinner.

He is going to be a lion for Halloween. I can't wait to see him running around growling at everybody! That is, if we can get him away from looking at himself in the mirror for two minutes!

I need a pick me up......

I am in the worst mood today. I am normally in a good/great mood, so I'm having a little bit of trouble being around people at the moment. Luckily, I have my own office, and for the most part people are leaving me alone. I was angry at the stupid drivers this morning, which I never am. I was on the verge of having a meltdown with my 2 year old trying to get him ready to go which I NEVER do. That bothered me more than anything. I try so hard to react to my son the "correct" way, keeping in mind that he is only 2 years old, and doesn't know shit from shinola.

I think the mornings are just getting increasingly difficult the farther along in my pregnancy I get. I am leaving for work later and later every day. We didn't make it out the door until almost 9:30 this morning! Luckily for me, I am the payroll goddess around here, and nobody ever says a word to me about my hours. Still, I would like to at least pretend like I have a work ethic!

As I was driving into the parking lot at my office, I saw a familiar face. His name is Dennis, and he is married to a woman I worked with at my previous job. I haven't seen him since my wedding, so it was a very nice surprise. He changed my mood alltogether. Thank God! I was about to run into my office and lock the door, and eat all of the Halloween candy I could get my hands on!

I am going to eat McDonald's for lunch, and then I am going to shut my phone off for the rest of the afternoon. So there!!

Living up to my blog.......

I am completely brain dead today.

I cannot believe how many stupid mistakes I have made. I've had to re-issue the same two checks 3 times because I keep screwing things up!!

My boss must think I'm a lunatic! Luckily, he has a good sense of humor. Besides, it makes him feel important to be able to point out these mistakes to me. If I don't screw up from time to time, he would get suspicious, right?

I'm going to blame the head cold that the Diva gave me, and leave it at that!

ANOTHER Baby Update!

I went to the doctor yeaterday - everything is going great! However, the doctor measured the baby, and she (or he!) weighs 4 pounds already!! I think I'm gestating a line backer - or at least a basketball player! The baby's head and abdomen are measuring 1 week ahead, and the baby's femur is measuring two weeks ahead. Oi.

Baby Update!

I thought I had 90 days to go, like 5 minutes ago. But the elephant tells me differently! I can't believe we are halfway through October already!

I am now in my third trimester. I will be going to the doctor every two weeks until about the last month. I have an appointment this Thursday, but I don't expect anything interesting to happen!

The baby is doing very well, mommy is doing very well. My blood pressure is in check at the moment, and I aced my glucose test. I am more thrilled by that than anything. I was not really wanting to test my blood sugar and take insulin again. It's amazing how different every pregnancy can be.

The baby is measuring around 3 pounds, just slightly larger than average. To me, that says I will not be going past my due date. If I don't go into labor on my own they will probably induce me.

We don't know the sex of the baby for sure. The doctor says he thinks it's a girl, but not to take his word for it. So, I'm not going to! My husband and I don't care to know anyway. It's just not important to us. We didn't find out with our first child, and that was such an amazing moment right after he was born when my husband got to tell everyone it was a boy. At least, I think he's the one that said it!! Most women I have talked to have a desperate need to know, they can't wait until the big day! I don't blame them, it is increasingly difficult to buy clothing and accessories that are generic, not specifically for boys or girls. I figure unless I have an amnio, I'm not going to take the word of the fuzzy off-air quality of the ultrasound pictures. I have heard too many people tell me that the doctor told them one thing, and they ended up with another.

Now, as far as personal feelings go, I think it's a girl too. That was my feeling when I first found out I was pregnant. I don't have such a strong feeling now, I am content not knowing. With my first child I had no feelings whatsoever, until the last month or so. I was feeling very strongly that he was a boy. I didn't tell anyone though - because people are so fond of assigning absolutes to everything. The last thing I need is for my kid to grow up with everyone saying I wanted a boy or a girl, or thought they were the other gender. Highly annoying!

That being said, I've also notice that people are very weird about what color the baby is wearing. As far as I'm concerned, my baby is going to wear whatever I've got - blue or pink be damned!! How did colors get to be so gender related anyway? I've never known someone to get upset about a girl wearing blue, but a boy wearing pink? Look out world!

So everything in baby-land is going well. We are trying to get our little guy prepared for the new arrival. This is going to be very interesting!

What Robyn Needs

First of all, yes, that is my name. Finally, the stress has been lifted!!

I was laughing so hard at everyone's "needs" entries - I decided I needed one for myself:

Robyn needs to feel What is Above and not be afraid that It is an enemy

The king decides that Robyn needs to be taught a lesson - luckily for her it's the kind of dirty tutorial she enjoys

Robyn needs to get in touch with what is above the brows.

The Write Stuff feels Robyn needs more by way of a biography than those brief words.

Robyn needs wisdom in her life

Robyn needs to work on tolerence and understanding of others if she wants to be understood.

Robyn needs scribes to help at refugee interviews.

Hugo says Robyn needs it spelled out that she's dumped.

Robyn needs to make an album that ROCKS.

in a field that is traditionally dominated by men, Robyn needs to contend with male teasing and often sheer paternal chauvinism and sexual harassment

Hi guys, Robyn needs to go to see a property in Khandallah at noon on Saturday.

Robyn needs some love.

the sometimes incomprehensible worldplay smashes through the barrier of sense to say exactly what Robyn needs to say.

I made my husband blush......

While my sister and I were talking about going to the red dress party, I brought out this cute little red cocktail dress for her to borrow. I told my husband it was the same dress I wore the night we decided we should start seeing each other. Or, rather, the night we first humped! He said he didn't recognize it, so I pulled it off the hanger and left it on a crumpled heap on the floor. I said, "do you recognize it now?"

I swear I saw him blush!

I'm every woman......

it's all in meeeeeee, anything you want done baby, I'll do it naturally, because.......
I've got the stuff that you want, I've got the thing that you need, I've got more than enough to get you down on your knees, because............
Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so.

I am driving my Daddy's Lexus again today. I listened to Whitney Houston on the way into work. That girl has a set of pipes!! I haven't listened to her in probably 15 years. I wonder if she really is as drugged out as everyone says?

I didn't change the CD, because I'm sure that Whitney was the best selection by far! God only knows what other Lord of the Dance-esque music is awaiting me. The all bagpipe version of "Oklahoma". Bruddah Iz and his eukalele (OOH KA LAY LAY). The soundtrack to "Phantom of the Opera". The "Top Gun" soundtrack. Probably at least one book on tape, about some maritime battle or other.

Great, now I'm going to have to check it out!

You know what else Bob?

You are "the Bobs".

You are basically in a position of power. With the
ability to fire people at will, you can make
them do almost anything you want. Like forcing
someone to lie about their true feelings for
adult contemporary artists.

Red Dress Party Pictures........

This is my cousin Wade. Sorry the picture is sideways!! Don't have the brainpower to fix it right now.

Wade and friends (the dress actually belongs to his mother. She told him just to make sure he doesn't put any burn marks in it).

We had lots of fun. Unfortunately there were no pictures of me from this camera. Maybe someone else took one and I can post it later. I say "unfortunately" like people have been clamoring for my picture - they have not!! You're gonna get it whether you want it or not!!

How many?

I went to Target with my friend Maria during lunch today. I had my first "when are you due?" question from a total stranger. She was working at the check register next to ours, and said: "When's your baby due?" It was more of a command than a question, so I immediately responded: "December 30th, ma'am." She looked at me and said very loudly "How many?" I looked right back at her and said "Huh? Um, December 30th?" She looks at my belly and makes some kind of noise with her tongue, as if to imply that I'm lying because I am way too big to go another 3 months, then says "Damn! You big! You look cute though!" I just laughed, and told her I was thinking the same thing! She asked me if I had heard about this woman in Vallejo who had used a surrogate when she and her husband had tried for years without getting pregnant. She said the woman ended up getting pregnant and the surrogate's babies and her baby were born 1 week apart. She had 4 kids all at once! She said to me" How come she didn't cancel her order when she found out she was pregnant?" I really couldn't answer that one.

I need an idea.....

Halloween is coming up - my favorite holiday of the year. I usually have no problem whatsoever coming up with a costume idea, but I've never been knocked up on Halloween before! For some reason, maybe hormones, I am havong a terrible time coming up with costume ideas. Any suggestions?

-I don't think I will do the pregnant nun - my grandma might not approve!
